From Kodak Brownie to Professional Photographer

kodak brownie camera with old photos

I LOVE Photography!

My first camera was a Kodak Brownie coupled with a sense of youthful curiosity.  What began as a childhood fascination became a lifelong passion—capturing light, texture, emotion, and the quiet beauty in everyday moments.

I grew up in Missouri surrounded by woods, lakes, open fields, and changing skies—endless scenes waiting to be captured.  From sweeping Ozark landscapes and rustic barns to abstracts and intentional camera movement, I’ve photographed a wide range of scenes and settings using a variety of photographic techniques.  Whether it’s mist rising from Table Rock Lake at sunrise, an eagle frozen mid-flight, or the quiet texture of a weathered barn, I am preserving a fleeting moment in time with every shutter click.

Over the years, my gear has evolved right along with my knowledge of how to use it.  Today, I shoot with a Nikon Z7 Mirrorless and a D7100 DSLR, paired with a variety of lenses that help me frame each subject just the way I see it in my mind’s eye.  I believe photography is about attention—paying close attention to the world and preserving what’s fleeting, fragile, or quietly powerful. There’s a picture around every corner, and I feel compelled to find it, capture it, and share it.  Each moment holds a story—and I love chasing those stories with my camera in hand.

As a professional photographer, my work has been shown in several regional galleries and festivals across Missouri and the Midwest, including the Springfield Art Museum and the Missouri Arts Council’s “Best of Missouri” show.  I am one of the Gallery Artists at the Table Rock Art Gallery in Branson West.  I'm honored to have had my pieces collected by private buyers from around the country.  Whether you're looking for artwork to fill a wall or a quiet moment to carry with you, I hope you find something here that speaks to you.

Photography isn't just what I do—it's how I connect with the world, making today's photographs for tomorrow's memories.
